Turning Point Choir was started by Berima Amo, in August 2015, because the young people in Amsterdam yearned for a choir of their own that reflects their dreams and aspirations. So here we are!!
Attempting to bring a modern sound to a classic scene isn’t an easy task. Few choirs have managed to do it, and even fewer have managed to do it well. The Amsterdam based youth choir Berima Amo & Turning Point Choir has not only managed to capture the sound of gospel and bring it new life, they do it quite well. Our repertoire are black songs from Africa, America & South America. Songwriting is also a cornerstone of the choir.
Berima Amo & Turning Point Choir continues to push forward at a staggering rate even in it’s short existence, and leaves no doubt to a bright future. Berima Amo brings a thunderous energy yet a warm beautiful tone on his trumpet/flugelhorn that would leave an indelible mark on you: “We are here to make a statement and break new grounds by singing God’s praise, says Berima Amo. I’m thrilled to be a part of this truly amazing movement.”
